Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 Sata Driver
Here is a head scratcher (for me, at least): I have a Dual 2Ghz G5 Tower with two Seagate Barracuda 7200.9's - one is 400GB and the other is 160GB. Both are Mac formatted (journaled). The 400GB is the boot drive (OS 10.4.7). My machine will not boot (no chime, only fans fire up) unless I have them in a.very particular. arrangement in the drive bays: - Boot drive must be in bay #2 - Boot drive must have jumper set on the two pins on the right (of the 4) - Secondary drive must be in bay #1 - Secondary drive must have no jumpers set According to Seagate but this seems to be untrue. While I can run my machine fine this way, it just doesn't seem quite right.
