Medion Aldi Talk Software
I posted the following as an additional post to the discussion of 'Very cheap 4 mp camera at ‘Aldi'. I have not gotten a response here in 7 hours and the people in this site's 'Open Talk' fourm, where I also posted this, are not at all familiar with Aldi! All I got there were skeptics; so I decided to start a new thread here. Aldi's latest offering is a notebook computer! See below for description of what they have going on sale tomorrow, Aug 1. Aldi Computers Medion Pc
For anybody interested - Aldi stores in UK had these on sale about a month ago. I wanted to buy one for my grand-daughter and went to the local store in the afternoon of the sale-start day - the Manager told me that on the day there were people waiting for the doors to open and in fact by 11am that day the whole of the sales throghout UK stores AND apparently in Germany had GONE. They are a superb machine and the back-up is terrific here. I bought a desktop (Medion) from Aldi when they had those on sale some 6 months ago (this for my daughter). They then were available with either standard monitor or a flattie screen to choice - THOSE also were all sold out throughout UK and Germany by mid-morning.
If anyone is at all interested - up with the lark, you'll not regret it. I bought a Medion laptop about two years ago. The battery lost charge within Warranty and was replaced IMMEDIATELY - AND they even refunded my post paid on returning the dud battery!! A colleague at work bought this laptop from a local Aldi earlier this week. He's been busy with travel and has only had a few minutes to use the system so far, but up to now he has no complaints. Concerning your other post, there were replies concerning the fact that Aldi does not take credit cards. I expect that that is just because they are a super-cheap, low overhead operation and do not want to pay the 2 or 3% fee the credit card companies charge them for a transaction. Several years ago I tried to get Aldi to contribute to a local United Way charity campaign and they told me that they keep their costs as low as possible (and no, I couldn't get them to contribute).Wolf.
