There can be a reason. What would the reason be to bash a game that is over 3 years old?
The developers are now defunct. It won't be supported anymore or updated. So there is nothing to be done about it. Maybe if D3 fans were not so critical of the game, more non Disciples fans would give it a try. But all the negative comments about Renaissance only helps scare casual gamers away from the franchise. The game is good, but never gets a large enough following to make it financially viable. So many want it to be another HOMM.
But then the more it becomes like HOMM, the less people play it. Redgreen, Reincarnation has no ActControl any more, didnt you update it through steam? As Renaissance came out, I liked it much, Resurrection much more but Reincarnation is really achieved masterpiece. And I can enjoy it without modding needed. But as I am a real fan of D3 I still keep original Renaissance/Resurrection (with my Custom Patch which makes it much more worthier). Sadly Map Editor of Resurrection needs also StarForce and therefore does not work under Windows 8.1.
Business law 5th edition. So no new maps wont be released by me. I focus 100% on Reincarnation as its 100% free-to-use now (without limits, etc.) )))))))))))))))).

The guide suggested looking at how they are done in other maps. I haven't found a map from the game that uses respawns yet. In previous versions I could try out some things by just altering the map profiles for item in hexmap.ini When I do this in Reincarnation, none of the respawns work.
Not sure if respawns don't work at all, or if the hexmap.ini is now more hardcoded so the game maybe doesn't apply changes from an altered one. I'm not sure my version installed right either. Had to reimage my HD and I'm D/Ling Reincarnation again from steam. Would be great if there was a guide somewhere on setting up map triggers.
Also if I ever figure it out (and taking a break for awhile atm) I'd want to have it so it would work in previous versions. Or is the map editor for Reincarnation only for that version? I know some buildings and the grass sets are specific to it, but maybe the triggers and code is as well.
OK, thanks for the info. Your map sounds awesome. I am trying to laugh this off, but after reinstalling Reincarnation, my serial key won't activate the tookit. I am suppose to copy my serial key and hardware code to a website associated with ActControl. Only my antivirus software reports it as unsafe. So know way am I going there then, as my game computer is also my business computer. I contacted Steam support.
Not sure what will happen cause so many parties are involved. I think I can play the game without the key but I wanted the mapeditor for viewing scene files. See I think the game may have unused dungeons. At least Renaissance appears to with folders named 'arenadungeoncircle', and a couple others.

Said folders have scene files but no hexmapscene file. Without the hexmap I don't think the scene would load in the arena. If I could view the scene I would know better if it was in use or not. I hope Steam sorts things out with the activation.
Here's what is says on the ACTControl site: Act Control was design to be the least intrusive copy protection on the market. Act Control is an activation system. It does NOT install any driver (actually it does NOT install anything at all on your PC).
Act Control does not “phone home” randomly and without your consent. It only contacts the activation server ONCE: 1.
When you first launch the program to activate it. When you CHOOSE to manually deactivate it The only thing sent TO the server is: 1. Your hardware code 2.
Your serial number Then only thing sent FROM the server is: 1. Your activation code which is written to the registry just like any product with a serial number does. Generally it’s stored HKEY CURRENT USER SOFTWARE PUBLISHER NAME PRODUCT NAME Feel free to check yourself, we have nothing to hide! So it looks pretty tame (even more so than Steam). Plus you can de-activate a machine whenever. (Unless you usually play on 10 machines at the same time eh?).
